Alejandra is a PhD student at KU Leuven and an affiliated researcher at the Center for Sustainability and Mining Studies (CEMS) of Universidad del Pac铆fico. She is interested in exploring how global and local actors engage in power relations and their impact on value chains. Her PhD project focuses on certification schemes for artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) in Peru and the extent to which they can promote a more responsible gold supply.

Alejandra holds a MA in International Development (小欧视频 of Manchester) and a BA in Sociology (Pontificia Universidad Cat贸lica del Per煤). Her previous experience focused on private foundations and cooperation agencies' role in promoting development agendas in South America.
