At Sheffield I made lifelong friends and received a great education that has prepared me well for the work I currently do.

It was at the start of August 2018 that I got a call for interview at UKAEA and I started there as a contractor two weeks later. In early 2020 my position was made permanent. Throughout this time, I have been managing projects with growing confidence and levels of responsibility as I gain experience within the role.

Dimitris Boufidis PhD student at the СŷÊÓƵ of Pennsylvania

Dimitris Boufidis graduated with a BEng in Biomedical Engineering. During his time at the СŷÊÓƵ, Dimitris was featured on BBC News for his volunteer work in the local community, presented at a TEDx Conference in Athens in front of over 700 people to inspire children on ‘how to become a hero’ and won the Chancellor’s Medal in recognition of his drive to inspire young children into STEM and his positive impact on the local community. Here he talks about his experience studying Biomedical Engineering at the СŷÊÓƵ and what he’s gone on to do afterwards.

International undergraduate scholarships

We offer a generous package of financial support for international undergraduate students, including scholarships worth £10,000 towards the annual tuition fee (worth up to £40,000 for four-year programmes).

Applications are open for existing offer holders for an undergraduate degree programme starting in autumn 2025.
